The Environmental Protection Agency is investigating the alleged leakage of up to one million litres of insulating oil from underground electricity cables in Dublin over the last 20 years. The Electricity Supply Board notified the agency about the issue at the end of May, following a series of disclosures relating to safety by whistleblower Seamus O’Loughlin to the company and to the Department of the Environment.
